Khust Eparchy refutes media falsehoods about its priest
In the event of further dissemination of false information, the eparchy of the UOC reserves the right to seek protection in court.
The Khust Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church published an official refutation of the information spread by the media about the alleged evasion of mobilization by the eparchy's secretary, Archpriest Ioann Rozman, citing his wife’s health condition, calling it false and slanderous.
"The secretary's wife is indeed undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at a medical center in the Czech Republic due to a severe health condition. She has serious limb impairments (arms and legs), which render her incapacitated and require constant care. Therefore, accusations of the "fictitiousness" of these circumstances are unfounded and discredit not only the clergy but also a person suffering from a severe ailment," the statement says.
The eparchy called on media representatives to adhere to journalistic standards, verify information before publishing, and refrain from spreading slander that harms the honor and dignity of individuals.
The Khust Eparchy of the UOC warned that it reserves the right to legal protection in the event of further dissemination of false information.
As reported by the UOJ, Transcarpathian activists of the OCU accused the UOC of being pro-Russian due to the word «Orthodox».
