OCU chaplain Roman Hryshchuk criticized UOC faithful who say that a Christian may glorify only God.

An OCU “priest,” Roman Hryshchuk, said he disagrees with the idea that a Christian should glorify only God. He said this in a sermon, a fragment of which was posted on Facebook by a UOC parishioner, Nadia Rusyn.

“It annoys him (a UOC parishioner – Ed.), and he starts shaking when you tell him ‘Glory to Ukraine,’” Hryshchuk says. “The moment you say it, he shakes so much he practically twists himself up, because ‘glory is only to God.’”

“Oh, really?” Hryshchuk replies sarcastically to his imaginary opponent.

Nadia Rusyn wrote that from Hryshchuk’s words “it is clear to us that for the OCU the Bible, unfortunately, is not relevant, and God is a priori unnecessary in their structure, because in His place they have put Bandera and other political figures.”

According to her, “the sermons of Hryshchuk and those like him are nothing but a set of political slogans and the incitement of religious hatred. They say that even OCU supporters do not want to listen to this comrade and avoid his presence.”

In the comments under the post, Hryshchuk appeared and complained to the author that his words had been taken out of context. In context, Hryshchuk claims that UOC faithful allegedly forget that they are Ukrainians and, in the war with the Russian Federation, support the aggressor.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the OCU “chaplain” called the monks of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra “inhuman” and “finished Moskal scum.”
