Khmelnytskyi Eparchy responds to fake news about believers in Krasyliv
The Khmelnytskyi Eparchy has announced its intention to file a complaint with law enforcement over the unlawful entry into the church.
The Khmelnytskyi Eparchy has refuted false reports circulated by some media outlets claiming that on June 23, 2023, parishioners of the Holy Resurrection Church in Krasyliv allegedly shouted “shame” at the relatives of a fallen soldier.
“In this regard, the press service of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy of the UOC states that this information does not correspond to reality and is a blatant manipulation. We urge everyone to take note and not to fall for this provocation,” the eparchy said in a statement.
According to the eparchy, on June 23, 2023, an attempted raid on the Holy Resurrection Church was carried out by supporters of the OCU, while the funeral service for the fallen soldier actually took place at another church in the city, which belongs to the OCU.
“The video circulating on social media shows believers of the Holy Resurrection Church shouting ‘shame’ at activist Nataliia Vyshnevska, who took an active part in attempting to cut the locks and unlawfully seize the church. However, by God’s grace, this attempt failed,” the eparchy explained.
The eparchy added that “in the near future, a report will be filed with law enforcement regarding the unlawful entry onto church property by unknown individuals with weapons, led by Nataliia Vyshnevska.”
As previously reported by the UOJ, TSN, Left Bank, and other media outlets defamed UOC believers in Krasyliv.
