UOC establishes humanitarian hub in frontline regions for Donbas residents

A humanitarian hub of the St. John of Shanghai Charitable Foundation has begun operations in the city of Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region. According to the kapelan.in.ua website, the hub was established to support internally displaced persons and those affected by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, particularly residents of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad in the Donetsk region.
The charitable institution was created with the support of the Synodal Military Department of the UOC, with the blessing of the ecclesiastical authorities of the Dnipropetrovsk Eparchy.
More than 100 families have already received humanitarian aid thanks to the work of the charitable foundation, as well as the support of compassionate Ukrainians and European partners.
It is noted that the St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco the Wonderworker Charitable Foundation has been operating since 2017. Since the beginning of the full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation, the foundation has been actively helping residents of frontline areas, internally displaced persons, and members of military families.
As a result of its activities in 2023–2024, the foundation entered the Top 100 Best Cases of Government and Society Partnerships in Kyiv. It is also the initiator and founder of numerous projects providing psychological and legal assistance to servicemen and their families.
