St. Hilarion of Poltava commemorated by UOC eparchy

The saint’s relics are kept at the Holy Cross Monastery in Poltava.
On May 12, 2025, the feast day of Saint Hilarion, Bishop of Poltava, Metropolitan Philip of Poltava and Myrhorod led the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Cross Monastery in Poltava, reports the eparchy’s press service.
Metropolitan Philip was concelebrated by the clergy of the eparchy. Abbesses and sisters from the Holy Cross Monastery and the Horbanivka Mother of God Monastery took part in the service. The bishops’ choir performed the liturgical chants.
After the Liturgy, the bishop offered a prayer before the relics of St. Hilarion.
At the end of the service, Metropolitan Philip gave spiritual guidance to the nuns and the faithful.
The glorification of St Hilarion (Yushenov) as a locally venerated saint took place at the Holy Cross Monastery in Poltava ten years ago, on May 12, 2015. The decision to canonize Bishop Hilarion of Poltava and Pereyaslav was made by the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on September 16, 2014 (Journal No. 47). The Synod decreed that his holy remains be considered relics, and the day of glorification be established as his feast day.
As reported by the UOJ, on May 12 in Pochaiv, thousands of faithful commemorated St. Amphilochius.
