In his public address, the abbot called the deposition of Metropolitan Tychikos a blow to the Church and expressed his spiritual support to him.

On May 23, 2025, the revered elder in Greece – Abbot Dositheos, father superior of the Agia Skepi Monastery of the Church of Greece, spoke on his official YouTube channel and commented on the situation around the removal of Metropolitan Tychikos of Paphos from his ecclesiastical position.

According to Abbot Dositheos, the decision to deprive Metropolitan Tychikos of his see was a "blow to the heart of the Church" and caused concern among the faithful. Abbot Dositheos linked the incident to the actions of ecumenism supporters and "external forces that have no fear of God".

Abbot Dositheos noted that Metropolitan Tychikos is known for his commitment to Orthodoxy and his opposition to apostasy.

"For Orthodox Christians, he remains a true metropolitan, regardless of official decisions," said Abbot Dositheos, adding that spiritual laws operate independently of human authority.

In conclusion of his address, the father superior of the Agia Skepe Monastery expressed his love and support for Metropolitan Tychikos, promising to be with him in prayer and spirit "until the end". He also urged the faithful not to reconcile with ecumenism, calling it "the heresy of heresies".

Earlier, the UOJ published the words of the abbot of the Greek monastery about when Ukrainians will reconcile with Russians, why Epifaniy is a heretic, and how the persecution of the UOC faithful brings them closer to holiness.
