Romanian Patriarchate provides aid to flood victims

In recent days, strong winds and heavy rains have caused large-scale floods in Romania, leading to the evacuation of hundreds of people.
On June 3, 2025, the Romanian Patriarchate announced its support for those affected by the floods in the regions of Covasna, Botoșani, and Brașov. This was reported by the Orthodoxia News Agency.
In the statement from the Romanian Patriarchate, it was announced that the affected will receive financial assistance amounting to 100,000 lei from the Patriarchal Administration's Relief Fund, which will be transferred to the accounts of the regions most affected by the floods.
In its address, the Patriarchate calls on the clergy and believers of all dioceses to provide moral and material support to the affected – through prayers, fundraising, and long-term food supplies.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Romanian Patriarch spoke at the inauguration of the country's new president.
