Particular attention was given to the role of religious organizations in “patriotic education.”

On June 4, 2025, representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations (UCCRO) met with Ukraine’s Minister of Education and Science, Oksen Lisovyi. The meeting was reported on UCCRO’s official website.

The participants discussed a wide range of topics, including the introduction of military training for university students, the presence of chaplains in lecture halls, and the development of third-level theological education without state funding. Special attention was given to issues of “spirituality” and maintaining “mutual understanding” between Church and state.

During what was described as a “lively and constructive” discussion, both sides outlined shared priorities and reaffirmed their readiness for continued dialogue aimed at strengthening public institutions and preserving the “spiritual and moral dimension” of Ukrainian education.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the government and UCCRO had discussed ways to improve the effectiveness of their cooperation.
