On June 22, 2025, thousands of Orthodox Christians walked through the streets of the Romanian city of Suceava in the "Path of the Saint" procession with the relics of the Great Martyr John of Suceava, the patron saint of Bukovyna. Believers from the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy of the UOC participated in the celebrations in honor of the saint.
"As reported from the scene, 15-20% of the participants in the procession are Orthodox Christians from the Chernivtsi region," says the message on the believers' Facebook page.
Local media note that this year thousands of Christians joined the prayer procession.
The celebrations in honor of the transfer of the relics of Saint John the New to the Suceava Fortress lasted four days and began on June 21.
