The Vice-Rector of the Kyiv Theological Academy (KDA) for Scientific and Theological Work, Professor Volodymyr Bureha, made a report in the thematic section "Christianity in Times of Wars and Conflicts" at an international scientific conference in Germany. According to the KDAiS website, the forum "Precarious Life – Sustainability and Theology" is held at the Goethe University in Frankfurt on June 26-28, 2025.

The conference was organized by the Department of Catholic Theology at Goethe University on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the intercultural theology program.

The conference was attended by theologians and religious scholars from Germany, Austria, Argentina, Brazil, Ghana, India, Congo, Côte d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Peru, Chad, Chile, and Japan.

In his report, Professor V. Bureha characterized the religious map of modern Ukraine and then spoke about the life of churches and religious denominations under the conditions of Russian military aggression against Ukraine.

In particular, he spoke about the destruction, damage, and looting of religious buildings in the combat zone and in temporarily occupied territories. Professor V. Bureha paid special attention to attempts at religious justification of military aggression and stated that these attempts at "sacralization of war" have become a serious challenge for the Christian community worldwide.

As reported by the UOJ, the KDA analyzed the DESS expertise on UOC’s alleged ties to ROC.
