Ukrainian Orthodox youth of Western Europe hold Congress in Spain

Even far from their homeland, young people preserve their Orthodox faith.
From July 14 to 18, 2025, the 3rd Congress of Ukrainian Orthodox Youth of Western Europe was held in the city of Málaga, Spain. The event was reported on the Facebook page of the UOC parish in Lisbon.
Youth from various European countries where Ukrainian Orthodox Church parishes are active came together for the gathering.
“These few days became a blessed time of heartfelt fellowship, prayer, spiritual reflection, and inspiration,” the message states.
Participants joined in Divine Liturgy, reflected on pressing issues of Christian life, shared experiences from parish ministry, and rejoiced in their encounter in the spirit of Christian love.
“This congress once again showed that even far from their native land, Ukrainian youth preserve their faith, language, traditions, and open hearts to God and neighbor,” wrote the Lisbon parish.
The event was attended by Abbess Seraphima (Shevchyk), who conveyed greetings from His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.
As previously reported by the UOJ, UOC eparchies continue to host summer camps for children and youth.
