In Transcarpathia, 100th anniversary of Holy Ascension Monastery, UOC, celebrated

The celebration gathered numerous clergy, monastics, and believers who came to share the joy of the spiritual festivity and the monastery's anniversary.
On August 2, 2025, on the day of the commemoration of the holy prophet of God Elijah and on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Holy Ascension Convent of the UOC in the village of Chumalevo, a solemn Divine Liturgy was celebrated.
The festive service was led by His Eminence Mark, Metropolitan of Khust and Vynohradiv, the ruling bishop of the Khust Eparchy.
He was concelebrated by His Eminence Antony, Metropolitan of Boryspil and Brovary, and His Grace Philaret, Bishop of Baryshivka.
The celebration brought together numerous clergy, monastics, and faithful who came to share in the joy of the spiritual festivity and the monastery’s anniversary.
During the service, prayers were offered for peace in Ukrainian land, the nuns of the monastery, and all those who have supported and strengthened this holy abode over the past hundred years.
Upon the conclusion of the Liturgy, the archpastors addressed the gathered with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the Chumalevo monastery for Transcarpathia, thanking everyone for the common prayer, and urging them to maintain unity in Christ.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the altar was consecrated in the Playuts church of of the Khust Eparchy of the UOC.
