Moldovan hierarch: Believers defending Grinăuți church slap authorities

Archbishop Marchel commented on the attempt to transfer the church in a Moldovan village.
Archbishop Marchel of the Church of Moldova commented on the attempt to transfer the church in the village of Grinăuți to the Bessarabian Metropolis of the Romanian Patriarchate.
According to him, the authorities of Moldova were involved in this process.
"This is a slap in the face to the authorities. It is well known that the Bessarabian Metropolis is supported by the current government. And the example of Grinăuți shows the percentage of government support," stated Archbishop Marchel.
He mentioned that the village of Grinăuți has a population of up to 1000 people, and the transfer of the church to the Bessarabian Metropolis was supported by "only 9 people, including the priest and his wife".
Archbishop Marchel reported that he once ordained this priest, and then he served in the Grinăuți parish for more than 13 years.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that, according to Archbishop Marchel, the authorities of Moldova interfere in the affairs of the Church.
