In Kharkiv, TRC deceitfully detains two priests

Two priest brothers were allegedly summoned to the SBU for questioning, and upon leaving the building, they were taken by TRC officers.
On August 8, 2025, in Kharkiv, two priests, Archpriest Serhiy Kit and his brother Archpriest Vitaliy Kit, were deceitfully detained by TCC officers, reports MP Artem Dmytruk, publishing a video of Fr. Sergiy.
According to the priest, he and his brother were summoned to the SBU supposedly for questioning. But upon leaving the building, they were detained by TRC officers. Despite having a deferment, they are not being released home.
"Of course, this is a politically-motivated process against our Church," said the priest.
He emphasized that he recently underwent surgery and, by law, is not subject to mobilization, but no one at the TRC pays attention to this. The priests are asking for prayers.
Archpriest Serhiy and his brother Vitaliy are the sons of the secretary of the Kharkiv Eparchy, Archpriest Mykhailo Kit. Fr. Serhiy is a cleric of the community of the Holy Martyr Alexander of Kharkiv.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that on August 8, the TRC detained a UOC seminary student in Kyiv.
