UOC Primate officiates patronal feast in Feofaniya
Metropolitan Onuphry celebrated the Liturgy on the feast day of the Great Martyr Panteleimon at the monastery in Feofaniya.
On August 9, 2025, the day of the commemoration of the Holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon, a solemn divine service was held at the Convent of St. Panteleimon in Feofaniya for the monastery’s patronal feast.
The Divine Liturgy in the monastery’s Cathedral of St. Panteleimon was led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.
Concelebrating with the Primate were the Chancellor of the UOC, Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary; Archbishop Seraphim of Yahotyn; Archbishop Sylvester of Bilohorodka; Archbishop Spyridon of Dobropillia; Bishop Lavr of Irpin; Bishop Mark of Borodianka; the monastery clergy; and visiting priests. Praying at the service was the abbess of the convent, Mother Elisaveta (Andreeva), together with the sisters.
After the reading of the Holy Gospel, His Beatitude addressed the faithful with a sermon.
Special prayers were offered for peace in the Ukrainian land, for deliverance from the enemy, that the Lord might look upon our people and preserve those in despair and deprived of shelter. The Primate implored God’s mercy for the Ukrainian people – that the Lord would grant wisdom to the authorities, strengthen the soldiers with courage, free the captives, heal the sick, and provide refuge for the homeless.
Following the Liturgy, the clergy and faithful, headed by the Primate, held a procession around the cathedral. The celebration concluded with a prayer to the Holy Great Martyr Panteleimon.
