A representative of Israel’s Foreign Ministry stated that there are currently no changes in Ukraine’s policy regarding the arrival of Hasidim.

The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has denied reports claiming that the Ukrainian authorities had allegedly banned the annual Hasidic pilgrimage to Uman for the holiday of Rosh Hashanah.

Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Oren Marmorshtein said: “As of today, there are no changes in Ukraine’s policy regarding the arrival of believers for Rosh Hashanah.”

A denial also came from the Ukrainian side. Anastasia Baryshnikova, PR director of the International Charitable Foundation named after Rabbi Nachman of Breslov, stated that “the information does not correspond to reality.” According to her, organizers are already holding meetings with Ukrainian security agencies in preparation for the celebration.

Earlier, Israeli media outlets had reported that Ukraine would ban the Hasidic pilgrimage.
