This year, about 40,000 Breslov Hasidim are expected to arrive in Ukraine.

On September 15, 2025, security measures will be strengthened in Uman on the eve of the pilgrimage of Breslov Hasidim for Rosh Hashanah. This was reported by the head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration, Ihor Taburets, writes Jewishnews.

According to the head of the Regional State Administration, the algorithms will be similar to previous years, with a special entry and movement regime.

Entry of vehicles will be prohibited on certain streets, particularly from the M-30 highway to Derevyanko Street, Orekhova Street, and from Rodnykivka to Pavlov Street.

Enhanced checkpoint controls will be in place at key entry points, such as from the M-05 highway to Yedynennia Street and from the M-30 highway to Mykhailivska Street.

The sale of alcohol, pyrotechnics, knives, pneumatic weapons, and toys imitating them is prohibited in the pilgrimage area.

Restrictions will be in effect from 00:00 on 15.09.2025 to 00:00 on 30.09.2025. The pilgrimage of Breslov Hasidim for the Jewish New Year this year falls on September 22-24.

Earlier, the Israeli Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir and the Ukrainian Ambassador to Tel Aviv Yevhen Korniychuk met and agreed on an action plan for receiving Hasidim in Uman.

Korniychuk stated that Ukraine, despite the war and regular shelling, takes on the obligation to "ensure order and respect for religious tradition" and "will do everything to make the pilgrimage to Uman safe".

As reported by the UOJ, earlier in an interview with The Times of Israel, the diplomat complained that Israel is not fulfilling the agreement, and there will be surprises with the Hasidim in Uman, which this year may number 40,000.
