Cross cut from UGCC church in Poland

Shevchuk accuses the Poles of "mocking Ukrainians".
On September 13, 2025, in the Polish city of Legnica, unknown individuals cut down the cross from the dome of a Uniate church, reports the UGCC website.
The head of the UGCC, S. Shevchuk, promptly responded to the incident and arrived in the city that evening. He demanded an "objective investigation" from the authorities, stating that the missing cross is "not just a theft of metal".
Shevchuk assured that the thieves cut down the cross "to mock Ukrainians, specifically to insult our spiritual feelings".
Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to Shevchuk, his structure claims St. Sophia's and the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
