Believers urge to join prayer standing near Kyiv Lavra

On September 22, 2025, dozens of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church continued their prayer vigil near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The Telegram channel "Fortress Lavra" publishes photos and videos of the prayer near the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh.

Priests of the UOC read akathists to Jesus the Sweetest and the Most Holy Theotokos.

The prayer near the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh next to the Kyiv-Pechersk Monastery is heard almost every evening.

Dozens of Kyiv residents have been coming for several years to prayerfully support the monastery's brethren and to ask the Theotokos, the Caves fathers, and all the saints for intercession, and the Lord for mercy.

Believers urge all Orthodox Christians to join the prayer vigil near the holy monastery.

"The native Lavra always needs prayer. Without it, these are just ancient walls. Turning to God fills them with a true soul. The Lavra and its venerable ones await all of us," the message says.

As reported by the UOJ, a UOC priest said that believers ask the Caves fathers for help to pray again in the monastery.
