The church’s façade, windows, and surrounding fence were damaged.

On December 13, 2025, as a result of another round of shelling, the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Kherson sustained significant damage. This was reported by the UOC press service, citing information from the eparchy.

The church fence was destroyed, the windows were blown out, and the façade of the church as well as buildings on the church grounds were damaged.

The UOC noted that the church is located on the front line, from where almost the entire population has been evacuated. The church has long been without electricity or heating, access to it is difficult, yet despite this, the shrine continues to serve as a spiritual refuge for grieving and destitute people.

As previously reported, another church in Kherson – dedicated to the Great Martyr Catherine – was also damaged earlier as a result of shelling.
