The new president of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, refused to organize the Hanukkah candle lighting ceremony at the presidential palace, which had been taking place since 2006. This was reported by Notes from Poland.
Earlier, during the election campaign, Nawrocki stated that if elected president, he would not continue his predecessor's tradition of celebrating Hanukkah.
