Largest menorah in Europe lit on Kyiv’s Maidan
Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko took part in the lighting of the largest Hanukkah menorah in Europe.
The largest Hanukkah menorah in Europe was lit on Kyiv’s Maidan, the mayor of the Ukrainian capital, Vitaliy Klitschko, reported on his Telegram channel, having personally participated in the ceremony.
According to him, diplomats from the United Kingdom, France, Canada, and Argentina took part in the event.
As Klitschko stated, “the light of the Hanukkah candles symbolizes the spirit of freedom, the victory of good over evil, and the indestructibility of the Jewish and Ukrainian peoples.”
The mayor thanked those present, emphasizing that “today we are all together in Ukraine, fighting for its freedom and independence, for democracy and the free path of the Ukrainian state.”
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Zelensky congratulated Jews on Hanukkah.
