Patriarch Porfirije supports Serbian students and schoolchildren in Croatia
The Primate of the Serbian Church is one of the largest sponsors of scholarships for Orthodox students in Croatia.
Patriarch Porfirije of the Serbian Orthodox Church funded scholarships for Serbian students and schoolchildren in Croatia, reports the press service of the Serbian Church.
On December 13, 2025, the 14th Congress of the "Privrednik" scholarship program was held at the Serbian Kantakuzina Katarina Branković Orthodox General Gymnasium in Zagreb. At the meeting, 135 scholarships ammounting from 100 to 300 euros were awarded.
The President of "Privrednik," Nikola Lunić, noted the spiritual support of Patriarch Porfirije, which "is invaluable in the current times of disagreements and conflicts". The head of the association also emphasized that "His Holiness Patriarch Porfirije has been providing financial support to the 'Privrednik' fund for many years and makes significant donations, and this year, just recently, he allocated 30,000 euros for scholarships."
The Serbian Economic Association "Privrednik" is the oldest active organization of Serbs in Croatia. Over three centuries of existence, "Privrednik" has graduated more than forty thousand young people. In the last fifteen years alone, the organization's fund has allocated over two million euros for scholarships for schoolchildren and students.
