UOC Social Department deliver gifts from His Beatitude to IDP children
Three hundred gifts were presented to children on the feast day of St. Nicholas.
By the blessing and with the support of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, on December 19, 2025, the Social Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church held an event in Kyiv dedicated to the feast day of St. Nicholas. This was reported by the press service of the UOC Social Department.
At the Church of All Saints on the grounds of the complex of the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, 300 sweet gift packages were distributed to children from displaced families, large families, families in need, as well as children with disabilities. The event brought together dozens of families from the capital’s eparchy.
Before the start of the celebration, the head of the UOC Social Department, Archpriest Serhii Ekshiyan, addressed the children with words about mercy and care for one’s neighbor.
The organizers expressed gratitude to the benefactors who helped assemble the gift packages. According to Fr. Serhii, such initiatives help children feel the care of the Church and teach gratitude toward those who offer help in difficult times. Similar charitable actions are carried out by the UOC Social Department on a regular basis.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the UOC in Kyiv had organized a charitable meal for those in need.
