In Ivachkiv, persecuted community opens Sunday school
In the Rivne Eparchy, the rector and parishioners of the persecuted community have opened a Sunday school for the spiritual education of children.
On December 22, 2025, the persecuted community of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos Church in the village of Ivachkiv, Zdolbuniv Deanery of the Rivne Eparchy of the UOC opened a Sunday school for children. This was reported by the press service of the Rivne Eparchy.
The Divine Liturgy was led by the dean of the Zdolbuniv Deanery, Archpriest Vasyl Nachev, who was joined by the rector of the church, Archpriest Vitaliy Kharkevych, and priests of the eparchy. Parishioners and believers from other parishes joined the worship.
After the liturgy, the Sunday school for the spiritual education of children was opned at the church.
Let us recall that provocations in Ivachkiv began in the spring of 2022. On September 11, 2022, the church was sealed on the condition that no community would conduct services there until a court ruling. However, raiders from the OCU violated the agreement, cut the locks on October 14, and seized the church. The community of the Holy Nativity parish conducts services in an adapted facility.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Chyhyryn, the OCU seized the Kazan Church of the UOC.
