The Synodal Commission has published texts in honor of ancient saints of Europe that were approved by the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

The Synodal Liturgical Commission of the UOC has published new liturgical texts that were previously approved at a session of the Holy Synod. According to the UOC Information Center, the faithful and clergy may now familiarize themselves with the akathists and download them for church or private devotional use.

The published materials include three akathists: to St. Edward, King of England, St. Olaf of Norway, and St. Sunniva of Norway. These saints lived in the first millennium and are venerated as common saints of the undivided Church, underscoring the universal character of canonical Orthodoxy.

The full texts of the prayers and hymns have been posted on the official Telegram channel of the UOC Synodal Liturgical Commission. The Church notes that the preparation and publication of such liturgical texts contribute to the spiritual enlightenment of the flock and to the expansion of the Church’s liturgical tradition.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a meeting of the UOC Synodal Commission on canonization issues had been held in Kyiv.
