Metropolitan Viktor tonsured a novice of the UOC monastery in the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy into monasticism.

On March 20, 2026, at the Holy Cross Monastery of the UOC in the town of Starokostiantyniv, Metropolitan Viktor of Khmelnytskyi and Starokostiantyniv performed the monastic tonsure of a novice of the monastery. This was reported by the press service of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy.

The tonsure of novice Pavlo Lys was performed after the statutory evening service in the monastery church. The service was attended by the eparchy's spiritual father Archimandrite Pakhomy (Didyk), the monastery's abbot Archimandrite Theodosiy (Slobodianiuk), and the clergy of the eparchy.

The newly tonsured monk received the name Mark in honor of the Apostle and Evangelist Mark.

Upon completion of the rite, Metropolitan Viktor addressed the newly tonsured monk with an archpastoral word, congratulated him on accepting monasticism, and wished him spiritual growth and faithfulness to his monastic calling.

As the UOJ reported, His Beatitude performed the tonsure of four Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra brethren.
