Monastic tonsure performed at Khust Eparchy metochion of UOC in Synevyrska Poliana
At the metochion of the Khust Eparchy of the UOC, Bishop Mark performed the tonsure of novice Olga with the monastic name Euphemia and blessed her on the monastic path.
On March 23, 2026, at the metochion of the Khust Eparchy of the UOC in the village of Synevyrska Poliana, a monastic tonsure was performed, reports the Information and Educational Department of the UOC with reference to the eparchial press service.
By the blessing of Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynohradiv, the rite of tonsure was performed by the vicar of the eparchy, Bishop Mark of Rakhiv.
The novice of the metochion Olga was tonsured into monasticism with the name of Euphemia.
After performing the rite, Bishop Mark addressed the newly-tonsured with instruction. He wished that the All-Merciful Lord would strengthen her in monastic endeavor, grant spiritual zeal, humility and strength to worthily bear the path of service to God and the Church.
The eparchy noted that monastic tonsure is an important stage of spiritual life, requiring firmness of faith and complete devotion to God.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that a monastic tonsure was performed at the Krasnohirske Monastery of the Cherkasy Eparchy.
