UOC’s Odesa Eparchy holds Bible knowledge tournament
The Odesa Eparchy of the UOC held a Bible tournament and a quiz on Augustine’s Confessions for children and young people, bringing participants together in an atmosphere of spiritual fellowship.
On March 22, 2026, the Odesa Eparchy of the UOC hosted the Bukvytsia intellectual tournament and a quiz for children, youth, and parishioners, the eparchy’s press service reports.
The events were held with the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odesa and Izmail. In the Yuzhne deanery, a qualifying round of the tournament took place, drawing more than 40 children from different age groups.
As the eparchy noted, participants immersed themselves in the world of board games based on biblical and theological themes. “These were not simply games – they were a living encounter with the word of God,” the press service said. After the intellectual portion, the children took part in a festive program featuring workshops, refreshments, and a cartoon screening.
That same day in Odesa, the Missionary and Youth Departments held a quiz on Blessed Augustine’s Confessions. After a common prayer, teams answered questions prepared by Archpriest Yevhen Hutiar and Archpriest Roman Tkachuk.
The winning teams were those representing the churches of Saints Peter and Fevronia, the Mother of God “Sign,” and the Mother of God “Surety of Sinners.” Organizers said the gathering took place in a warm atmosphere and helped foster the participants’ spiritual unity, after which winners and participants received commemorative gifts.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Volyn Eparchy of the UOC held a festival for Orthodox Youth Day.
