Terrorist tunnels discovered under church in Lebanon
Israeli military discovered "Hezbollah" tunnels under a church in Lebanon, used for combat activities and reactivated after the ceasefire.
On March 27, 2026, Israeli military forces discovered underground terrorist tunnels beneath a church in southern Lebanon, reports the resource "Israel News".
According to military sources, an active underground complex was uncovered in the area of a church in the village of Al-Khiam. During the operations, a shaft and tunnel used for combat activities were discovered.
It is reported that this facility was previously found in December 2024 and was then cleared of weapons and militants. However, recently three more shafts were identified in the same area, created during the ceasefire period, indicating repeated use of the infrastructure.
The IDF stated that such actions demonstrate systematic use of civilian and religious infrastructure for military purposes, which violates international law and endangers civilians.
The military emphasized that the operation was conducted based on precise intelligence information about militant activities in the church area.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused Iran of strikes on Jerusalem shrines.
