Sumy Eparchy holds charity concert for children with cancer
As part of the campaign “Bright Deeds for the Bright Day!”, a creative evening was held to raise funds for the treatment of children with cancer in the Sumy region.
On March 29, 2026, a charity concert in support of children with cancer was held in the exhibition hall of the Sumy Diocesan Administration. The event took place with the blessing of Metropolitan Yevlohiy of Sumy and Okhtyrka as part of the fifteenth diocesan campaign “Bright Deeds for the Bright Day!,” according to the eparchy’s website.
The evening, marked by a warm and heartfelt atmosphere, was organized by the diocesan Sisterhood of Mercy. In his welcoming remarks, the eparchy’s secretary, Archimandrite Anastasiy (Panov), spoke about the spiritual meaning of Great Lent and the importance of works of mercy in the life of every Christian. The cleric also conveyed the blessing of the ruling bishop to the participants and guests.
The concert program was rich and varied. The audience saw a theatrical performance, choreographic numbers, vocal presentations on both spiritual and contemporary themes, as well as instrumental music. The program also included an interactive segment in which guests themselves were able to take part.
The funds raised during the event will be added to the overall total of the “Bright Deeds for the Bright Day!” charity drive to help cover treatment for children in the region suffering from cancer.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Sumy Eparchy had donated more than one million hryvnias for children with cancer.
