St. Volodymyr’s Cathedral in Kyiv switches to new calendar
Starting May 1, services at St. Volodymyr’s Cathedral will be celebrated according to the new calendar.
On April 20, 2026, it became known that St. Volodymyr’s Cathedral in Kyiv is officially switching to the Revised Julian church calendar. The corresponding decision was adopted by the parish council headed by the rector of the cathedral with the “blessing” of Epifaniy.
According to the published announcement, the first services under the new calendar will be those in honor of the Hieromartyr Macarius, Metropolitan of Kyiv. The All-Night Vigil at the cathedral will be served on April 30, and the festal Divine Liturgy on May 1. From that point on, the entire cathedral community will live according to this calendar.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Dumenko had taken control of St. Volodymyr’s Cathedral in Kyiv.
