A Ukrainian community in Alicante province pledged to fully support the development of the Kyiv Patriarchate.

On May 7, 2026, UOC-KP head Nikodym signed a decree accepting a parish in the Spanish city of Denia into his structure. The head of the organization granted the request of the community, which had previously been under the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. Nikodym published the decree on his Facebook page.

The parish council decided to change jurisdiction at a general meeting on April 26, 2026. In its official appeal to Nikodym, representatives of the community said they recognized him as the new “Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine.”

The parishioners pledged to show due obedience to the church hierarchy and to support the development of the Kyiv Patriarchate in every possible way.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the “patriarch” of the UOC-KP announced the opening of an eparchy in Greece.
