Church сonsecrated after restoration in Zaporizhzhia Eparchy of UOC
Metropolitan Luke of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol performed the rite of great consecration and celebrated the first Liturgy in the renovated church.
On the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman, May 10, 2026, a church dedicated to the Martyr Anatoliy was consecrated in Zaporizhzhia, according to the press service of the Zaporizhzhia Eparchy.
The rite of great consecration of the altar and the first Divine Liturgy in what is essentially a new church – created after a lengthy reconstruction of the old building – were led by Metropolitan Luke of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol.
After the Liturgy, the clergy and numerous laypeople made a solemn procession of the cross around the newly consecrated church.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the city administration in Zaporizhzhia had announced plans to demolish a UOC hospital church.
