During their stay in Poland, the sisters of Horodok Monastery gave concerts in the towns of Gródek, Supraśl, and Narew.

On May 16, 2026, the choir of sisters from St. Nicholas Horodok Convent won first place in the chamber choir category at the 45th International Festival of Orthodox Church Music, “Hajnówka Days of Church Music,” in the Polish town of Hajnówka. This was reported by the Rivne Eparchy website.

The singers from the Ukrainian monastery shared the top award with the vocal quartet Katedra Głosów from Poland. This year, 28 ensembles took part in the competition auditions of the renowned international forum, which annually brings together church choirs from different countries around the world.

During their stay in Poland, the sisters of Horodok Monastery also gave concerts in Gródek, Supraśl, and Narew. The eparchy congratulated the monastic choir on the high honor and wished the sisters God’s help in their further labors and service to Christ through church singing.

As previously reported by the UOJ, the best parish choir in Ukraine was chosen at the Pentecostia festival. Against this background, one can see a consistent pattern of Orthodox choirs taking part in international competitions, where their performances go beyond the church sphere and become a form of cultural dialogue, as well as a means of presenting the liturgical tradition in public space.
