A Russian strike damaged the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Kyiv's Solomianskyi District, shattering windows in the church and parish buildings. No injuries were reported.

On June 2, 2026, a church complex dedicated to St. Sergius of Radonezh in Kyiv's Solomianskyi District was damaged during a massive Russian attack on the capital, according to the official Telegram channel of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

The Kyiv Eparchy reported that Kyiv and the surrounding region came under a nighttime assault involving missiles and drones. Among the sites affected was the territory of the St. Sergius parish.

The attack shattered windows in the church and parish buildings and damaged the façade of the complex. Areas where people had been staying suffered the most significant damage.

According to the eparchy, no one was injured. None of the parishioners or clergy present during the attack sustained wounds.

An assessment of the damage is currently underway, and church officials are continuing to determine the full extent of the losses.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a UOC church in Ulanove, Sumy region, was destroyed as a result of shelling.
