OCU supporters move to take over Trinity Cathedral in Kremenchuk
A woman required medical assistance following the aggressive actions of the raiders.
On June 4, 2026, OCU representatives entered the building of Trinity Cathedral in Kremenchuk with police support. The radicals forced their way into the cathedral, citing court rulings on the community’s transfer to the jurisdiction of Epifaniy Dumenko, according to Kremenchuk Telegraph.
Parishioners of both confessions gathered near Trinity Church, where clashes and scuffles broke out between them. OCU supporters shouted offensive slogans. During the confrontation, one of the women present became unwell, and an ambulance crew was called to the scene.
Earlier, OCU representatives had announced an assault on the cathedral immediately after the Feast of Pentecost, calling it a “gesture of goodwill.”
As previously reported by the UOJ, the Kremenchuk Eparchy commented on the situation surrounding Trinity Cathedral, stressing that all issues must be resolved exclusively within the legal framework, in compliance with Ukrainian law and with respect for the religious rights of believers.
