UOC church in Chornomorsk affected by shelling
The Holy Transfiguration Church had its windows smashed and the grounds of the Sunday school damaged as a result of shelling.
On June 7, 2026, as a result of a Russian strike on Chornomorsk, Odesa region, the Holy Transfiguration Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was damaged, reports the Odesa Eparchy.
As a result of the shelling, the church’s windows were shattered, the Sunday school rooms were affected, the surrounding grounds were destroyed, and the church fence was partially broken.
The eparchy noted that the shrine was among the facilities that suffered during another attack on the city. According to preliminary data, there are no human casualties among the clergy and parishioners.
The Odesa Eparchy also appealed to believers with a request to support the restoration of the damaged church. For this purpose, a collection of donations has been opened through the eparchy's charitable foundation.
As the UOJ reported, a UOC church in in Yunakivka, Sumy region, was destroyed by shelling.
