OCU "hierarch": Victory will come when we destroy UOC, this cancerous tumor
Serhiy Horobtsov called the UOC an “enemy” and a “cancerous tumor.”
OCU Metropolitan of Donetsk Serhiy Horobtsov wrote on his Facebook page that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church is an “enemy” and a “cancerous tumor,” and called for its destruction.
“The Moscow Patriarchate has become a cancerous tumor in the body of Ukraine. It is an enemy that in some places is more dangerous than Kadyrovites or Rosgvardia. They are not fighting for territory – they are fighting for the souls of Ukrainians, depriving people of freedom, dignity, and the right to choose their own future. Therefore, Ukraine’s true victory will not be only on the front. It will come when only those churches remain inside the state that pray for their people, their defenders, and their country. And representatives of the aggressor state in cassocks will no longer be able to spread their propaganda on Ukrainian soil,” Horobtsov wrote.
He also criticized UOC priests for not abandoning their parishes in the combat zone. Horobtsov himself left his Donetsk and Mariupol eparchy long ago and now “serves” in a church in Kyiv seized from the UOC.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Horobtsov had announced he had taken control of St. John’s Church.
