Muslims threaten 12-year-old girl in Italy: "Put on a burqa, or we'll kill you"
In the city of Livorno, a group of radical migrants intimidated a child for refusing to follow the Islamic dress code and behavioral norms.
The Italian police have launched an investigation into an incident in which a group of adults threatened to kill a 12-year-old girl. The reason for the aggression was that the child’s clothing and manner of behavior did not comply with strict religious prescriptions, reports the Ghana News Agency.
According to the mother’s statement filed with law enforcement authorities, the incident occurred in the Parterre public park. A group of immigrants from Bangladesh approached the girl while she was in the company of her peers.
One of the women, who regularly wears a burqa, expressed complaints to a child over not complying with Islamic clothing rules. “Be careful, otherwise we will kill you,” police quoted the content of the threats received by the child.
The victim’s mother, who is Hindu, emphasized that this is not the first case of pressure from the radical segment of their compatriot community. The woman explained that her husband is Muslim; however, the family has decided to allow their daughter the right to independently choose her religious path in the future.
According to the complainant, the attackers belong to a group that actively promotes strict observance of religious dogmas among migrants in Italy. At present, the Livorno State Police are investigating the complaint and establishing the identities of all participants in the incident.
As the UOJ reported, a proposal was made in Italy to ban the burqa and tighten control over mosques.
