March in defense of family and Christian upbringing held in Macedonia
In the city of Bitola, thousands of faithful joined a march to defend young people’s right to live according to the norms of the Orthodox faith.
On June 21, 2026, a march attended by thousands was held in the Macedonian city of Bitola in support of preserving the traditional family and the Christian upbringing of the younger generation, Religija.mk reports.
The event, titled “The Real Pride Parade,” took place on the central street of Shirok Sokak for the fifth time. Participants marched from Magnolia Square to the Officers’ House, expressing their support for the institution of marriage and the family.
The organizers stressed that their aim was to defend children’s right to grow up in families with a father and a mother. During speeches at the rally, participants called for future generations to be raised exclusively in the spirit of the Orthodox Christian faith and according to God’s commandments.
Activists said the march in Bitola represents a “true pride parade” for their people and faith, in contrast to the gay pride parade previously held in Skopje.
