LGBT Flag Day Marked by Ukraine's State Channel
Suspilne published several posts on Facebook dedicated to the anniversary of the rainbow flag.
On June 25, the Ukrainian state television channel Suspilne published several posts on its Facebook pages dedicated to LGBT Flag Day. This is evidenced, in particular, by a publication on the official Suspilne Facebook page.
Suspilne Kultura wrote that the LGBT flag "united people around the world," that the practice of treating homosexuals was "real torture," and that there is now a flag "with stripes of Ukrainian identity." Suspilne also added the colors of the LGBT flag to its logo.
The state media publication provoked a reaction on social networks. The majority of users expressed strong disagreement with the placement of such content on a state television channel.
Suspilne Novyny also published a post in support of LGBT. There they wrote that
Previously, the SPJ reported that the channel "expresses solidarity and support for the LGBTQ+ community, and also defends rights and freedoms in Ukraine."
Previously, the SPJ reported that an openly homosexual person was appointed Deputy Minister of Culture.
