Kyiv beauty bar fires employee for protesting pride parade
A Kyiv beauty salon dismissed employee Yuliana Kaznodii after she publicly expressed opposition to LGBT ideology.
The management of G×Kyiv terminated its contract with a student of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv after a video from KyivPride circulated online showing the young woman stepping on an LGBT flag. This was reported by Focus.
The beauty bar's management initially announced that it was “reviewing the situation,” but later, following pressure from the advocacy organizations KyivPride and UkrainePride, decided to dismiss the employee immediately.
In an official statement, representatives of the salon stressed that their brand is built on “the right of everyone to be themselves.” At the same time, they described Yuliana’s actions as “unacceptable,” arguing that they were inconsistent with the company’s values of inclusivity.
In comments posted on social media, the young woman explained that her views on the family differ “fundamentally” from those promoted by the LGBT movement.
“I have my own beliefs, values, and life experience. They have shaped me as a person, and I have a right to them just as everyone else has a right to their own views,” Yuliana wrote.
Despite this, G×Kyiv stated that it “no longer cooperates” with her.
As the UOJ reported, an LGBT center called on the AUCCRO to recognize the rights of homosexuals as a step toward Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
