Vinnytsia authorities are planning a large-scale restoration of Reicher’s Synagogue, built in 1903.

In Vinnytsia, the authorities have announced a tender for the restoration of a local architectural monument – the synagogue building at 11 Chervonokhrestivska Street. This was reported by I-VIN.INFO.

According to the tender documentation, the contractor will have to carry out a full range of restoration and construction works worth more than UAH 46 million. The plans include restoring the facades, cleaning the surfaces, repairing damaged brickwork, strengthening the building’s structures with metal elements, and reinforcing the foundations with reinforced concrete structures. The dismantling of the old roof and the restoration of the wooden roof structures are also planned.

Inside the building, restorers will work on the wooden gallery, staircases, and metal structures. All historical elements of the building must be preserved. To take part in the procurement process, the contractor must prove experience in working with architectural monuments and have the required specialists.

Reicher’s Synagogue was built in 1903 according to a design by city architect Hryhoriy Artynov, with funds provided by physician Isaac Reicher. After the Second World War, the building was converted into a sports center, and today it houses a children’s and youth sports school.

As the UOJ reported, UAH 9.4 million from the budget will be spent on restoring a UGCC church in the Lviv region.
