The Lavra's Abbot Performed a Diaconal Ordination of a Monastery Resident
During the Liturgy at the Varvara Church, Metropolitan Pavel ordained monk Avramiy, a resident of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, to the diaconate.
On June 28, 2026, the abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Varvara Church in the capital, as reported by the Lavra's press service.
During the service, His Eminence Pavel was co-served by Metropolitan Nikodim of Zhytomyr and Novograd-Volynsky, Bishop Kliment of Borovsky, the clergy of the monastery, as well as Archpriest Vasyl Ozymchuk with the parish clergy.
During the Liturgy, a diaconal ordination was performed for a resident of the Pechersk Monastery – monk Avramiy.
At the conclusion of the service, Metropolitan Pavel thanked the hierarchs, clergy, and brotherhood for their shared prayer. The Abbot of the Lavra also congratulated the faithful on the Lord's Day, and those who had received Communion – on partaking of the Life-Giving Mysteries of Christ.
After the Liturgy, His Eminence addressed those present with an archpastoral word.
