10,000 signatures against seizure of UOC church submitted to Odesa RMA
The Odesa Eparchy collected 10,000 signatures in support of parishioners of the seized church in honor of St. Alexander Nevsky.
On June 29, 2026, Orthodox residents of Odesa submitted 10,000 signatures to the Odesa Regional Military Administration, demanding protection for the church in honor of Holy Right-Believing Prince Alexander Nevsky. This was reported by the press service of the UOC eparchy.
In their appeal, the faithful call for a legal assessment of the events that took place on June 23 and for the situation to be reviewed in accordance with the law.
Parishioners stress that they made no decision to change the church’s confessional affiliation and seek to resolve the conflict exclusively within the legal framework.
As the UOJ previously reported, the Odessa clergy called on the RMA head, Oleh Kiper, to intervene in the situation involving the forcible seizure of the Alexander Nevsky church.
