Men in military uniform reportedly took a monk of the Holy Protection Monastery away to an unknown location.

Approximately two weeks ago, a group of individuals wearing military uniforms arrived at the Holy Protection Monastery of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Lyman. According to UOJ sources, they forcibly took a clergyman, Archimandrite Avvakum, and removed him from the monastery in an unknown direction.

Since the incident, no information has emerged regarding Fr. Avvakum’s whereabouts or condition.

There is speculation that members of military brigades currently stationed in the city may have been involved in the abduction. The faithful are being asked to pray for the health, safety, and deliverance of the abducted archimandrite.

As the UOJ reported, security officers in Volodymyr allegedly beat and abducted an altar server of the UOC cathedral.
