In Odessa and Kamianets-Podilskyi, UOC Faithful Are Invited to Study Iconography
The Odessa Seminary and the school in Kamianets-Podilskyi have opened enrollment in iconography departments.
Educational institutions of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church have begun accepting documents for iconography studies. This is reported on the websites seminariya.od.ua and ikonnyk.
The iconography department of the Odessa Theological Seminary named after Nun Taisia trains specialists in iconography, mosaic, fresco painting, and icon restoration. The curriculum also covers all types of gilding. Students are provided with accommodation on the grounds of the Archangel Michael Women's Monastery in Odessa.
To apply, candidates must pass a creative competition in drawing and painting, as well as an interview. Examinations will begin on August 20. Documents are accepted until August 19.
The duration of study is four years.
Enrollment is also open at the Kamianets-Podilskyi Iconography School named after the Holy Apostle and Evangelist Luke. Orthodox young men and women between the ages of 16 and 25 are accepted.
The curriculum includes both practical and theoretical disciplines. Students also undergo copying, liturgical, educational-pedagogical, and production-pedagogical internships.
The duration of study is 3 years and 10 months.
