OCU activists stage fake meeting to “transfer” UOC church in Ploske
In Kyiv Region, OCU activists have begun forging documents in preparation for a raid on the UOC Church of the Intercession of the Theotokos.
The OCU has claimed the “transfer” of the Church of the Intercession of the Theotokos of the UOC’s Boryspil Eparchy in the village of Ploske, Brovary district, Kyiv Region, to its own structure. Details of the unlawful meeting were published by the Dozor Telegram channel.
According to the parish community, on July 5, 2026, a group of activists organized a meeting near the local House of Culture and, without the participation of the UOC rector or parishioners, voted to “transfer” the church to Dumenko’s structure. The protocol of this “meeting” is expected to be used to falsify legal documents changing the ownership of the church.
Photos have appeared online showing activist Oleksandr Lyman, who previously took part in similar raider schemes in the villages of Pohreby and Zazymia, as well as in the case of the Sts. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Brovary. Believers are convinced that the forged documents are the first stage in preparations for a physical seizure of the church.
Media reports claim that “all 248 registered parishioners unanimously supported the decision to join the Holy Intercession parish to the Pereiaslav-Vyshneve Eparchy of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.”
As the UOJ reported, OCU activists had circulated calls in local groups urging people to come to a “general meeting” near the House of Culture in Ploske. The organizers claimed that any residents of the settlements who own real estate could influence the parish community’s decisions.
