Mezhyritsky Monastery Marks 35th Anniversary of the Revival of Monastic Life
Metropolitan Pimen led the festive service at Mezhyritsky Monastery.
The Mezhyritsky Holy Trinity Monastery marked the 35th anniversary of the renewal of monastic life. This was reported by the Rivne Diocese.
The festive celebrations at the Volyn monastery on the feast day of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul were led by Metropolitan Pimen of Rivne and Ostroh, co-served by the monastery's abbot Archimandrite Fedor (Melnychuk), the brotherhood, and the diocesan clergy.
During the service in the main church, prayers were offered for peace on Ukrainian soil, for deliverance from the enemy, and for the protection of people left without shelter. Bishop Pimen, in his address to the faithful, emphasized the importance of unity and sincere mercy in times of severe trials.
"May the Lord, through the prayers of the chief apostles, strengthen us in faith and grant our people peace," the hierarch addressed the faithful, "I wish the monastery's brotherhood God's help in their ministry, spiritual growth, and many blessed years." The jubilee celebrations concluded with a solemn procession of the Cross around the monastery walls and a communal molieben.
The Holy Trinity Monastery is one of the oldest Orthodox shrines of the region, founded in the 16th century by Prince Konstantin Ostrozky. After a long period of desolation, monastic life was revived here in 1991. Today the monastery remains a significant spiritual center of the Rivne region, continuing the traditions of ancient asceticism and welcoming pilgrims from across Ukraine.
As the SPJ reported, the St. George Metochion in Rivne celebrated the anniversary of the monastery.
